Doubling up is therefore pretty worth it, but on a contraverse build I think OPs set up is the best. 4 charge from just 2 orbs with stacks on stacks, 42% from 2 kick-starts but you still get to make an orb on grenade kills. It's the best set up IMO.

What's actually happening is that the kickstart mod isn't applying it's energy return because of the perk on Contraverse Hold. Kickstart mods wait a certain amount of time before refunding energy to see if it's "empty". Contraverse is going to end up refunding energy before kickstart mod checks if it is empty.

It is very good for low level or group PvE Content as the perk of Nezarac will compensate for any lack of grenade kills. For harder or solo PvE content, Contraverse is where it's at for me.
