The stock radio head unit with that has the cd/dvd player in it. For the stock radio head unit the radio-code is necessary. You will get this Code Rom a dealer. He Need the Serial number from the radio. A reset is not necessary, ist plag & play. After the first start of the ne head unit the radio-code is needed.

You just need to unplug 3 fuses in the fuse box, then plug them back in. See link for the YouTube video below showing the fuses that you need to unplug.

Drove to work, reinstalled (took out and placed it back) fuse out (as suggested above). Noticed the UCONNECT infotainment system was reseted to maybe the oldest version. Lost the ventilated/heated seat options. Kept car off for about 10-15mins, came back and everything (even the software) was back to normal.
