I'd like to know whether there is anything I should ask in particular, or anything I should look out for after the service in terms of performance, noise, etc? The dealer is advising a valve adjustment and valve cover gasket replacement at a cost of ~$1,200. That seems excessive, and we're not hearing any tapping or the like. It is running without issue.

Lots of YouTube videos on how to do a valve adjustment or how to do valve cover gaskets grommets and tube seals. After the valve cover is off you must unbolt the rocket arm assembly and spool and lift them both out together. The spool is seal with Honda bond, so this does take some effort. Slide the old spool off the rocker arm assembly.

I should have kept track of the injectors and put the front to the back and vice versa to see if the problem switched cylinder banks.

The vehicle has 188,000 kilometers and the engine is presently running fine with no noticeable noises.
