Between beretta and benelli you have two of the best shotgun markers. I've shot gas and inertia guns in 3gun, and theres no practical difference. The main differences in any match are reloading and fixing malfunctions. Any gun with a non pistol grip will do well, as long as she runs.

The 1301 (any variant) is the more practical shotgun IMO/E, but for the same $, the M4 is a steal. I have both. I don't have as much time behind the 1301 as the M4 but so far both have been reliable for me. The M4 is better in nearly every metric. The only downside being the lesser capacity due to import restrictions and the extra pound of weight. It cycles smoother, shoots softer, and has a superior operating system. The blink system in the beretta is awesome, but not as refined as the argo.
