The Juvenile Detention Center is a secure youth detention center used by the Johnson County District Court to hold juveniles who are awaiting detention hearings, state custody placement, placement into a Kansas State Juvenile Correctional Facility, or release back to legal guardians. Juveniles are given a medical exam within 24 to 48 hours of admission to the detention center (referred to as OCJDC for Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center).
