Ideapad flex 5 broken hinge cracked screen. Lenovo's hinges are known to explode without warning, the glue attaching the screen to the hinge fails and this happens, see all the class action lawsuits going on. I taped the bottom corners of my lid to prevent wicked warping when opening/closing. Still use caution though.

In the bottom left and bottom right corners, you’ll see the plate that attaches the hinge to the display assembly. Make sure all these screws, on both sides, are tight enough. If they’re too loose, the display will lift out of its frame when you move the assembly, causing the laptop to feel wobbly when opening and closing it. If it's only an aesthetic issue (i.e the plastic cover is mounted crooked) or it is more of a manufacturing defect (i.e. the hinge is mounted crooked) it's hard to say from just this picture. It's also somewhat of a recurring problem with this Lenovo's dual hinge setup. Whether or not you want to return it, it's up to you.To address the first issue first make sure you have all critical updates from Lenovo installed. Sometimes Vantage may skip something.
