Treble is less enjoyable, probably because the sibilant qualities can get in the way with the T1s. The Valhalla 2 plays with my emotions in a way beyond expectation. In the end. To put it mildly, the Lyr+ is one of the most competitive headphone amplifiers in the market right now and Schiit's more mature creation up to date. The Modi E's analog stage is based on a OP1656 chip while the Modius E has two totally separate output stages. Just a tad more advanced IMO, and again both outputs are active at the same time. Balanced vs only SE outputs. And Schiit added AES as well. Well worth the upgrade here.

Vali2 isn't stereotypical rolled off at the top tube sound but it's not as sharp in the treble - basically a safer choice for the HD800.
