By law (see INA 336 (b)), they have 120 days to give you a decision after your interview. After that, there's no consequence/penalty for them if they miss the deadline, but you can go to your district court to sue them. The court will either make the decision instead of USCIS, or give USCIS a hard deadline to make a decision.
