The exact placement of these chords really depends on how you feel the song. To me they are a bit behind the melody if that makes sense. The initial D in the intro that comes before each Am chord is played quickly as if its the last beat of a measure of G. The outro here is a bit different from what Bruce plays on piano, but I think it feels nice on guitar.
