You need to have it out to make use of it, and you need to be within reach of the target. It is a good Implement to have with the Weapon to have a little extra Temp HP. It's only use is healing and Temp HP.Barbarian has this issue where using agile weapons halves your rage damage. Flurry Ranger reaches its maximum potential specifically with agile weapons. PF 2e: Whip Build. So I am brand new to PF 2e (actually I've never even played PF 1e before). However, I have been playing DnD for years. So I am familiar with theory-crafting in general. I want to make a whip build (trip/disarm) but I am kinda confused on how to approach it. I am starting off level 1 and I'm a human (versatile) Fighter (warrior). Spell and scroll choices for Thaumaturge (w/ Sorcerer Dedication) Thaumaturges are incredibly versatile via the "Scroll Esoterica" feat tree. They can (at lvl 10) acquire two scrolls of any tradition of lvl 1 and lvl 2. On top of this I've picked up the Sorcerer Dedication, Shadow bloodline (Occult tradition). Bard is probably one of the best spellcasting archetypes for thaumaturge, mainly for Inspire Courage and other focus cantrips. You can use a Bell implement to cast your spells. I'd advise against wizard and witch because their spellcasting keys off of Intelligence and Thaumaturge is a Charisma class. I know the mirror is extremely powerful, but I also don’t want to just be limited to it. I find the lantern interesting, since it’s nice for utility and combat both (plus it looks cool).New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Thaumaturge anything is an s tier class. I feel ranged thaum is pretty viable, mainly because most of their damage is flat damage which ranged doesn't usually get. Deckard is an incredible role-play character, but he has a few hurdles to overcome to be a compelling party member once encounters begin. Luckily the Thaumaturge class fills a lot of those gaps for us out of the gate.I haven't played it yet, but the Thaumaturge is thebfirst 2E class that has me really excited to play (and I'm going to untroduce my new Thaumaturge character into the campaign very soon - we're level 8). Thematically I love it. It's a martial character with some magic, it has complex action choices and comolex build choices.

For a thaumaturge, dipping into rogue is great anyways because surprise attack from the dedication, L4 for quick draw, L6 for sneak attack, and L8 for dread striker gives you great synergy (demoralize the enemy with your +1/+2 bonus from regalia to make them flatfooted, frightened, and deal 1D6 extra damage).Check out the Basically Good Podcast TODAY!https://www.basicallygoodpodcast.comThe thaumaturge comes out in just a couple of weeks, but I'm here to give you ...14. Thaumaturge, Investigator, Rogue, and (when built for it) Ranger all have similar abilities to identify enemy weaknesses. A potential Inquisitor would also have similar abilities. You can have multiple classes with the same end goals if both reach those goals in different ways. But in the average AP, combat will be roughly 66-75% of the adventure, with the rest split fairly evenly between social and exploration.
