Well that's because being able to discard 3 augments takes away from the randomness that the other 7 players in the lobby might be ok with. Keep in mind this works for 2-1 since it's random, whereas 3-2 and 4-2 are semi tailored. So in the first choice and after rerolling you should at least see one champ from your board.
