I would never consider a LML after owning a L5P. $1500 to delete a Cummins or LML. $7,000 to delete an L5P. $3,000 to convert from a CP4 to CP3 on the LML. $700+ to level the GMC/Chevy compared to $100 to level the Ram. Personally, I would never consider long-term ownership of a modern diesel with emissions intact.

The LP5 is the 1st year that GM is making the motor totally in house vs the previous Izuzu diesel influence. One really positive thing is that the Bosch injection system is gone for 17 and the Denso system is in. For starters, I don't know if anyone has any data showing the HP4 system is any better.

I really depends on what you call "available". Sure, you can now delete an L5P, BUT, you have to do the computer swaps (ECM / TCM). This delete option is costing many $6k - $7k. It is not a viable option.
