AOTC groups don't want to teach people, they want to get in with people who know fights already. And you can't expect them to invite anyone who they feel might not do mechanics and/or cause wipes. The best example for why people demand aotc is the garbage players you will see in non-aotc groups standing in fire and doing all sorts of dumb shit.
